Annual Awards Dinner Live Auction

Take a sneak peak at the items featured in this year’s Annual Awards Dinner Live Auction! Even if you are not able to attend, you can still participate and support the National Maritime Historical Society.   Let us do the bidding for you!  Call  914-737-7878 ext. 0 or email nmhs@seahistory.org to be set up with your own personal bidding representative. Be sure to place your highest bid with your representative, who will bid in agreed-upon increments from the opening bid up to your highest bid.  All items will be available to bid on the night of the event, 26 October 2017. Telephone bids will be honored until Tuesday 24 October at 12:00 Noon EST.

1929 Chateau Pichon Lalande –
A collector’s item from a celebrated year, from the private cellar of American heiress Doris Duke

Duke  was an American heiress, socialite, horticulturalist, art collector and philanthropist dubbed “the richest little girl in the world.”  The daughter of a wealthy tobacco tycoon, Duke was able to fund a life of global travel and wide-ranging interests. These extended across journalism, competition surfing, jazz piano, wildlife conservation, Oriental art and Hare Krishna. Her estimated $1.3 billion fortune was largely left to charity.  This wine is reviewed as having a “mature but lively appearance, fresh and delicate, pure and elegant, great finesse, perfectly intact, wonderful length …”
