    New Maritime History Book

Feel the sea spray!  Whether you are a shipwreck buff or a lighthouse fan, this book is for you!   "Shipwrecks, Scalawags, and Scavengers: The Storied Waters of Pigeon Point" by JoAnn Semones is an informative and entertaining read.  Published by Glencannon Press Maritime Books, it chronicles a hundred years of maritime history between 1853 and 1953 in a  conversational style. The stories of lost lives, wrecked vessels, and the building of two lighthouses along California's coast are sometimes tragic, sometimes amusing, but always compelling.  The book truly brings to life a bygone era.   I recommend it highly.
