Gloucester fishing schooner ERNESTINA, ex-Effie M. Morrissey (1894)

National Maritime Historical Society formed "Friends of Ernestina" in 1977, following dismasting of the schooner after an attempted voyage to the US from Cape Verde. The Friends went on to raise funds and provide goods-in-kind to refit and partially rebuild the schooner. Ernestina came to the United States under sail in 1982, when she was turned over to the Massachusetts Schooner Ernstina Commission.
