Supporting National Maritime Historical Society

There are a variety of ways to make gifts to National Maritime Historical Society. NMHS welcomes individual and corporate donations, and gifts in honor of relatives and friends. All gifts are featured in Sea History magazine on the Patron recognition page.

Gifts are unrestricted contributions which support every aspect of the Society's operation, publication, and educational programming.  Gifts may be made in cash, by check, or with appreciated securities, and are used to support areas of greatest need.

Matching Gifts can double an individual contribution.  Many companies will match the charitable gifts made by their employees.  Check with your personnel office for details.

Gifts-in-Kind such as equipment and services are welcome. Non-cash gifts of assets have special rules regarding tax deductibility.

Planned Gifts and Bequests often allow donors to make a larger donation than might be possible for them through an outright gift.  Including the National Maritime Historical Society in your estate plans often has tax and income advantages, and offers the personal satisfaction of making a meaningful charitable contribution toward the Society's future.

If you would like information about making a donation to the Society, please contact Burchie Green at 914-737-7878, or 800-221-NMHS(6647). All gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. The National Maritime Historical Society is a registered not-for-profit organization under section 501(c)3 of the IRS Code.
